The Alphabet (1968)
A film by David Lynch

The idea of The Alphabet came from David Lynch's wife Peggy's niece, who had a nightmare and woke up reciting the alphabet. Peggy told David about this and he decided to make a film in relation to it. A wealthy man named H. Barton Wasserman (who had given David Lynch $1000 to make something for him) produced the project. It's an effective little film and it isn't surprising that it's based on a nightmare.
